Hello! I'm Elise.
I specialize in supporting couples, families and individuals to understand the patterns shaping their relationships, their emotions, and their sense of self. In our work together we'll uncover what lies beneath those patterns: how they’ve helped you navigate life so far, what needs or longings they may be expressing, and where there is space for something different.
I believe that meaningful change happens within the safety of a genuine, attuned connection. I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for each person’s unique story. My work is rooted in helping clients better understand themselves, navigate life’s transitions, and build more secure and fulfilling relationships—with others and with themselves.
I bring a grounded, authentic presence into our sessions. I'll ask thoughtful questions, hold space for the hard stuff, and also bring a little humor in. My hope is for therapy to feel collaborative, approachable, and deeply human. I show up as a real person in the room (not a blank slate), so that you can feel welcome to do the same.
We might be a good fit if...
~You find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships and can't seem to figure out why or how to change that
~You spend so much energy caring for others that you’ve lost touch with what you need or how to ask for it
~You overthink interactions, question yourself, or struggle to trust your own thoughts and feelings
~You have reactions that feel bigger than you expect — shutting down, becoming defensive, feeling overwhelmed, or saying things you later wish you hadn’t
~You are experiencing injuries/chronic pain and are grieving not just your body, but your identity, self-worth, community and activities that once brought you meaning and purpose
~You want to understand yourself with more compassion and create new ways of relating
For couples
~You keep having the same arguments over and over again
~One small comment turns into a much bigger thing
~You feel unheard, misunderstood, or like you and your partner are speaking different languages
~You have a hard time expressing your needs without criticism, defensiveness, withdrawal, or shutting down
~Trust has been broken, resentment has built up, or you feel disconnected from your partner
I work with folks of any gender expression, sexual orientation, race, religion, culture, size, and ability.
Ways We Can Work Together
The Roots of
the Practice
My approach is rooted in trauma-informed attachment-based therapy; the belief that our early experiences shape how we relate to ourselves and others. The past has a way of staying with us, showing up in patterns we often don’t understand until we bring them into the light.
Often there are stories we tell ourselves about who we are, what we deserve, and how relationships work. Together, we look at those stories and beliefs to create space for new ways of connecting to ourselves and to others.
I pay close attention not just to the challenges, but to the strengths, those inner resources and adaptive strategies that have helped you navigate life so far. Identifying and building on those strengths is key to creating change that lasts.
